Giambattista Valli was founded in 2005 as a brand based in ready-to-wear. In 2011 they officially added a Couture Branche. To actually be recognized by the Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture as a Couture house, a protected trademark in France, a brand has to fulfill diverse requirements. These include 35 handmade garments to be presented on a runway show as well as a headquarter in Paris.
