The French fashion label Patou is behind the lilac-colored dress with a pleated skirt. The tight pleats fan out as the wearer begins to move, revealing the full volume of the piece. The top of the dress leaves nothing to be desired either. Ruching highlights the deep V-neck, revealing a lot of skin. A counterbalance to this is provided by lightweight puffed sleeves that taper tightly at the wrists and are closed there with zippers in a Victorian manner. Finally, the back of the dress is worth mentioning, where a twisted part of the dress elegantly leaves a hint of the wearers’ back exposed.

Color blocking is something that consistently goes in and out of fashion. Pairing three bright colors like pink, orange and red takes courage, but here it was pulled off expertly. The slight drop waist is made more visible by the contrasting colors, and due to the added panel of fabric at the hem, the skirt appears even fuller. Made of raw silk, the piece has a beautiful shine without looking too sleek.

The bag on show has not been spotted in the campaign or on the runway but based on the color as well as the material it can be placed around spring 2000. Ferragamo is a brand of juxtaposing attributes. On the one hand the very proper and conservative maker of staples for the aging upper class but as could be seen in the early oughts’ or the fall/winter 2023 runway the brand can also be for the fashion-forward. Like here: the idea of a matching belt and bag is very conservative but due to the pink and cream coloring in pony hair, the set gets a very different vibe. The typical circular Ferragamo hardware is seen as a blet buckle as well as on the bags strap, making sure the branding is subtle enough not to be noticed by everyone but only those in the know.

This cocktail dress by Prada does what Prada does best: surprise in a typically dramatic manner. Created of the most luscious satin in a bright turquoise the color alone is a statement. An integrated boned bustier is giving the wearer shape as well as security. Furthermore, this detail is subtly showing at the neckline, giving the dress a sexier look. At the front a deconstructed rose is added combined with a subtle bustle at the back to give the dress a certain degree of grandeur. This garment is perfect for a modern-day Marie Antoinette. 

Very Y2K and perfect for 2023 is this wrap skirt. With different lengths and layers, the skirt is getting an interesting look, appearing more streamlined and clean than romantic and playful. The mix of different hues from red to bright pink is a bold statement and perfect for the transformation of trends. Also, it could fabulously be styled over pants, or for the very bold ones maybe even as a wrap top.

This little white bag is an absolute gem to be found. The handles are discreetly attached via the golden initials of the brand founders J and L. Due to the letters similarity it almost appears like they're just part of the design rather than a logo. The long shoulder strap is attachable in addition to the short handles. These handles give the handbag a slight almond shape, in which everything can be elegantly accommodated.

A pink white zebra printed mini dress, decorated with a gold, oversized safety pin could only be created by one infamous fashion house: Versace. The asymmetric bodycon dress is high-necked, looking like a sheath dress but the added toga-style front is giving it some momentum.
